Farewell to Summer

labor day marks the beginning of fall for me. it's a long awaited day and i am thrilled it's finally here! i know fall doesn't technically begin until late september, but the crisp mornings, low humidity, and fresh picked apples have got me giddy to begin my favorite season. i hope everyone enjoys their labor day!

the little beast

this little guy decided to wonder into our lives today. the hubs found him in our yard while he was washing the car. of course we had to give him a home. however, lulu, our other kitty, is not happy about this at all. will she adjust? she's kind of a quirky cat to begin with and right now she is totally out of her element.

a bright crisp morning

it's 65 degrees out! and this is my 100th post!!

whipping up something good

i was feeling a bit under the weather so i stayed home today. for lunch i made whole wheat rigatoni with evoo and lemon juice. i threw in some sliced fresh mushrooms, tomatoes, feta cheese, and parsley. for a side i steamed some sugar snap peas. and for an afternoon snack i whipped up some little lemon tarts topped with fresh blueberries. yummy!

so many hats and only one head!

i really love hats and am so glad they are making a comeback. this lovely one is from anthropologie. does anyone else adore them as much as me?

Nun on a bike

the hubs and i spent our saturday in asheville with a couple of our friends. we brunched at the grove park inn and then the boys went to see the expendables while us gals did a little shopping. we all had dinner at tupelo honey cafe i downtown where the nun riding a bike was seen peddling around downtown. asheville is a very interesting place, let me tell you. you really never know what you will see.

lazy days

i consider this a mid - day snack. a little dip in lake lure, nc. just floating around on a noodle and kayaking around the cove with family.
